Couples Therapy
Area of PracticeMaybe you would like to see yourself and your partner some day being one of those older couples walking down the beach holding hands, who finish each other’s sentences, who support each other through the ups and downs of life. Maybe where you are now you are unsure you can get to that point.
Or maybe you plan to stay together forever, but you have just lost that spark you once had and really want to get back there. Perhaps you remember the excitement of falling in love, barely coming up for air and you don’t feel that now. Maybe the chemistry just isn’t there any longer. You don’t understand how it got to this point.
I love to help couples! Whether you are facing conflict, feeling disconnected, want a deeper connection, or a more exciting sex life, I can help you achieve your goals. I know my clients know themselves better than I do and I will work from an academically grounded and practically accessible mindset to give you tools and to serve as a guide to get you where you want to be. I am a compassionate listener so you will be heard, and I will challenge you when necessary.
The idea behind the word “rekindle” is to cause something that has faded – romantic love, passionate sex, and intimacy, to reignite. Sometimes we mistakenly think we shouldn’t have to work at relationships – that if you were “in love” all of these things should be there easily, naturally. But, really, didn’t you “work” to get them in the beginning of your relationship when you were getting to know each other?! Think back to when you were first dating. Why should your pursuit for the relationship you want stop now?! Why should we even call it “work”? Let’s call it energy. Yes, a good relationship takes energy and magnificent sex requires energy before, during, and after sex. Let me help you get back there.
